How big should a rabbit cage be, and are DIY shelving options safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered | 2 months and 30 days old | 5 lbs

What size cage should I get for my rabbit? I was thinking of doing the storage shelving diy I saw on YouTube!

You want a cage that is at-least big enough so that she can hop and have a little room to run around. Avoid wire on the bottom of the cage, because this can be hard on her feet. The bigger the cage the better. For more information about rabbit housing, I recommend you read the article at the link below. https://www.mspca.org/pet_resources/the-perfect-home-for-a-rabbit/ I hope that helps and all is well with Beauo.
