Why does my dog have dark red spots near her vagina after her period?

My dog developed a mass of dark red spots on and near her vagina. They are not raised and don’t seem to bother her. Do you know what it could be? Happened soon after her 2nd menstrual period. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 8 lbs

Do they appear to be scabs and raised or just part of her skin pigment? I would clean the area with soap and water and if there are scabs then try to gently scrub them off. If it is part of her skin pigment then just make sure the area stays clean as they could be black heads in the skin and will go away with time.
