My dog died after doxycycline for MRSA. Was it the medication?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 12 years and 4 months old

GSD prescribed doxycycline for MRSA. After 5 days she suddenly died. Could the drug have done this?

No, doxycycline can commonly cause vomiting and diarrhea with no appetite, but unless there was an acute allergic reaction it does not cause death. If the MRSA spread to the blood stream and she became septic, then this can be fatal as the infection took over her body. I am sorry for your loss.
