My puppy has white flakes after bath. Is it normal or serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 12 days old

Our Boston terrier is around 10 weeks old, I just gave him his first bath at home and after a few hours I noticed little white flakes on his fur. Other than that he is eating and drinking fine.. but I read online it can be serious?

I doubt it is serious at his age. It is likely normal turnover of skin cells. Just be sure he is eating a high quality diet. It should resolve on it's own. Mention it to your vet when Gunner goes to get his next set of vaccines in about 3-4 weeks. Don't bathe him too much and be sure you are using a shampoo made for dogs. Once or twice a month should be enough bathing.
