My blind cat's old injured eye looks deflated. Is it ruptured?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old | 9 lbs

Our cat had an eye injury theee years ago. Her eye was saved, but she’s blind in that eye. Recently we noticed a dimple or pucker on the cornea, but otherwise the blind eye looked the same. Today it suddenly looks deflated. It doesn’t apply to bother her, but I’m concerned. Is this normal? I’ve attached before and after pictures. Thank you!

No, this is not normal and it appears like the eye has ruptured, possibly as a complication of the original injury or due to a more recent accident. Removal is recommended to prevent infection and pain
