Is my puppy sleeping too much? How much sleep is normal for puppies?

My cocker spaniel puppy sleeps many times a day... Is that normal?

It is normal for puppy to sleep a lot. I wouldn't be too concerned unless he is also not acting like a normal active puppy when he is awake.     Congratulations on your new puppy Mercury! Puppies do sleep a lot when they are young. Being that he is so new to your, it's hard to know what is normal for him. Other things you need to watch to know if he is healthy are food intake- young puppies eat a lot. He should wake up and be playful at times. He should drink water and should not exhibit any coughing, excessive sneezing, vomiting or soft stool. If you see any signs of illness, have him examined by his veterinarian. When in doubt, have him examined as well. Thats the best way to know if everything is ok. I hope this helps to point you in the right direction. Please feel free to post any further questions!
