This appears to be a skin infection of the scrotum. This is not uncommon to see in unneutered males, but can be somewhat difficult to treat. Without seeing the black lump, it's difficult to know what this is, but it's likley due to a scab and/or swelling. I definitely would not be scared of it affecting you, so it's OK to have him inside for the night. I recommend cleaning the scrotum with a medicated wipe or shampoo (can get this at the pet store) once a day until the bumps/pus are gone. Avoid rubbing or squeezing the lesions, because this can cause more damage than good. If it seems to get worse, then you'll want to take Yoda into the vet for an exam. I hope that helps and Yoda gets better soon.
