Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 10 years and 11 months old | 63 lbs
We just adopted a 10 year old female pit from the SPCA. She has been almost constantly leaking urine since we brought her home and licking and scratching at her female area. There is no foul smell or other discharge. What do you think it could be? They never mentioned this when we got her.

Constantly leaking urine is most concerning of incontinence, but I'm almost certain that this would have been noticed while in the shelter and the dog would not have been adopted if this was discovered. More likely, this is a recent urinary infection that happened to occur around adoption time. The SPCA is usually good at offering free vet services within two weeks of adoption. I recommend calling them soon and scheduling an appointment. They will be able to help find the cause of this and offer the best treatment. I hope that helps and all is well with Sassy. It's always great to see an adoption; especially one of this particular breed -they are great dogs.
