My cat has calicivirus. Why is she suddenly wobbling and falling?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 1 month old | 8 lbs

My cat has been diagnosed with calicivirus from her fever, ulcers and lameness. she is taking antibiotics and medicines for pain on her legs, but what I noticed today is that she is wobbling and falling down so much, she is having trouble walking. She is eating well since we the visit to the vet 2 days ago, she is bathing and sometimes playing but her loss of balance is troubling us. What could be wrong with her?

Calicovirus can cause many symptoms but balance loss is very concerning. I recommend a revisit to your vet, a full blood panel to rule out any internal issues and an ear exam to ensure this is not affecting her balance
