How to potty train my dog fast to sleep in my bed without accidents?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 23 days old

How can I potty train my dog fast so that she can sleep with me? She’s spoiled and wants to sleep in the bed but I’m scared I’ll wake up to dog poop or pee in my bed and I can’t have that in my beauty rest mattress

I would not let her sleep in the bed until she can get herself down if needed. A lot of puppies get injured by being in the bed too young as they try to jump off and break a leg or fall off on accident for being clumsy. It is safest for her to stay in a kennel. As far as potty training goes, once she no longer has accidents in the house and tells you when she needs to go outside both at night and in the day, then she can be trusted to sleep in the bed without having an accident. Most are trained by 4 months of age
