Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 28 days old | 6 lbs
We have a 10 week old French bulldog puppy who was diagnosed with parvo 2 weeks ago tomorrow. We caught it early as her test was a weak positive and we had them start providing therapy immediately including IV fluids, anti nausea meds and antibiotics. She came home twice and "relapsed" with vomiting and diarrhea twice and is currently back at the vet receiving the same treatment. Is there a reason she has not improved or is there anything else we can be doing to help save her?

Poor Stella. I would recommend that she have a fecal examination done if not already. Sometimes parasites complicate things. Even if the fecal exam is negative I would still do a broad spectrum deworming. Also, rarely, dogs will develop something called an intussuseption. This is where the intestines telescope on themselves and cause vomiting and diarrhea and can be life threatening. An x-ray and/or an abdominal ultrasound would be helpful in ruling these other problems out. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon! Thank you for using Pet Coach.
