Why does my dog get excited for one blanket and sit on my lap?

My dog is obsessed with a particular blanket, whenever I get it out to put over myself he gets very excited and sits on my lap, why is this? He has never gotten excited about any of the other blankets I have used. Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Male | neutered

How cute! Some dogs just love the texture and warmth of certain things over others. Just like we probably have our favorite pair of jeans and favorite blanket they can have favorite toys and beds as well. Plus if it is blanket you use often it has your scent on it. Also, he is likely excited that he gets to cuddle with you. :)
