My cat only has one testicle. Should I worry and can he be neutered?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 27 days old

My vet told me that my cat has only 1 testicle. Is this something to worry about? And can I still get him neutered?

I would not be worried about it but because of that he definitely needs to be neutered. The other testicle is either in the inguinal area or still inside his abdomen. If you don't neuter him and that testicle stays inside him it is almost a 100% chance that it will turn cancerous. So, my suggestion would be to have him neutered as soon as possible. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
