My anxious Havanese nips when approached near his face. Help!

Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | neutered | 6 years and 1 month old | 11 lbs

6y/0 purebred male Havanese nips hard, mostly when approached too fast near his face or front paws. owner recently passed so dog anxious, however was seeing behavior specialist (don't know who) previously for this behavior.

Poor Jasper. It sounds like he has a lot of fear and anxiety. Losing his owner had probably only made things worse. I would talk to your vet about starting him on a daily anti-anxiety medicine like fluoxetine or trazadone. I have had good success with these for fear aggression. I would also think about getting a trainer to come to the house to teach you different things you can work on to help her feel more comfortable. I hope this helps!
