My mom's puppy has a bumpy rash all over her face and chest. We are not sure what it is

I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I suspect this could be secondary to demodex, which is a type of skin mite. There is likely also a bacterial skin infection that needs to be treated due to the potential primary mite infection. The pictures are not very clear but it does not appear like the rash is moist or crusty or that she is scratching enough to damage the skin. I would recommend an aloe vera or oatmeal shampoo and monitor for any increase in symptoms. Be sure to keep up to date with parasite prevention with a product which is also effective against mites as a precaution

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. What you are describing sounds like papules. These typically develop with irritation, allergies and skin infections. I would suggest starting with a shampoo such as Duoxo chlorhexidine PS combination and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend starting her on welactin omega 3 fish oil and essential 6 spot on by dermoscent. You can also try Benadryl, the dose is typically 1mg per 1lb of body weight. If there is no improvement or the area worsens I would get her examined by your veterinarian for further testing and treatment. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. I think my dog has Pyoderma, he is 11 weeks old and we just brought him home from the litter 2 days ago. He’s been scratching since this morning and I just noticed the red bumps. What should I do ? Could I try a home remedy? He is a pit bull
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Marlo. His belly looks very inflamed and is likely itchy. It is always a good idea to take a new puppy to a veterinarian when you first obtain him. He will need to be examined, started on his vaccinations and deworming. The rash can be addressed as well. It could be a mild allergic reaction, impetigo or even an overgrowth of a mite known as Demodex. The veterinarian will guide you as far as any testing or treatment needed. In the meantime, I recommend bathing him with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula for puppies to soothe the skin. I hope this information helps!

My puppy has a rash with bumps that is running up one side of his body and I am concerned as to whether he needs to go the emergency vet as the regular vet is closed at present.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use a medicated shampoo containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This does not appear to be an emergency. My pup started with puppy acne on her face but now what seems to be red hard crusted bumps has spread across her shoulders and down her spine. Is this still pup acne or something else?
Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Based on your description and pictures Rasta could be dealing with a skin allergy. I would recommend starting a shampoo such as Douxo PS chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend using malacetic conditioning spray and apply to the area two to three times per day until resolved. Benadryl can also be used safely and the most common recommended dose that is recommended by most veterinarians is 1 mg per 1 pound of body weight every 12 hours. I hope this helps! If the skin does not improve or it worsens, then I would recommend having Rasta examined by a veterinarian for further treatment options. It could be the start of puppy pyoderma (a skin infection), or it could be due to fleas, mites, or allergies. Having her seen by a vet will prevent it from getting worse and allow it to be treated. Allergies could be the main factor here causing the rash, especially if he is scratching and licking at the area. This also may be a skin infection starting. I would suggest getting to your vet to get the areas in question examines to determine what the best plan for treatment should be. If you are use to get to your vet right now, I would give him 50mg of Benadryl every 8 hours, bathe him with a shampoo such as Duoxo chlorhexidine PS combination, start omega 3 fish oil and essential 6 spot on by dermoscent. If this is not resolving the rash and bumps or it worsens while using these, you should definitely get in to see your vet. Feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns you may have. I just noticed this red rash like area on my dog and also a red bump that’s looks similar to a bite mark. Any idea what this looks like? She has vet appointment this Saturday for a check up but is there anything I can do about it until then?

It could be that Harley Moon has an allergic reaction to something outside, could have ringworm, or it could be puppy pyoderma (a skin infection). It's a very good idea to have this seen by a vet this week, and for now, keep an eye on her. If it appears to be itching her, you can can give her an oatmeal bath to see if that helps soothe her skin. I'd also put an Ecollar on her if she starts licking at it. You can make one at home or you can buy one at a pet store. I hope this helps!
