My cat's tail looks scalped with fur missing. Does it need a vet?

I am sorry Flash has this issue. I would recommend bringing Flash to a veterinarian. He most likely needs antibiotics and depending on what the wound looks like in person he make need to have the area sutured. I would recommend an elizabethan collar in the mean time to make sure Flash is not licking at the area. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
