Dog's eye won't close after a fight. Is it an injury or Horner's?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | unneutered

My dogs started fighting and i tried to separate them but wouldn't work so i resorted to hitting and i wasn't thinking and accidentally hit one of my dog in the head or eye which finally stopped the fighting, when i checked on it one of his eyes are looking sideways. (Turns out his eye isnt sideways the his eye lens won't close) Is there any way to treat it?

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. You may have caused some inflammation or direct trauma to some facial nerves leading to symptoms of horners syndrome. This typically resolves with time. To be on the safe side, I would recommend having this evaluated by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
