My dog has hookworms. What dewormer is best and how to dose?

Me, my boyfriend, and my American bully are, without a shadow of a doubt, infected with hookworms. (Although, this diagnosis wasn't made by a professional) Which de worming agent is best for all three of us? Pyrantel poamate or piperzine citrate??? How much and how many days??? Please help ... Ready to get un hooked here in Channelview, Tx

I'm sorry to hear that all of you are having this problem! For your dog, pyrantel pamoate or fenbendazole would be effective to treat hookworms - both of these can be purchased over the counter at most pet stores. Just follow the dosing instructions on the label of the product you purchase - it should say how much to give and for how long, based on your dog's weight. Unfortunately, it's illegal for us to give any kind of medical advice for humans, so I would advise you to consult with your physician regarding treatment for yourself and your boyfriend.
