My guinea pig's poop is suddenly much bigger. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Female | unspayed | 1.09 lbs

My guinea pig is pooping a lot bigger than she used to. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I left her alone for one day though. She is not in any pain though.

As long as she is a eating, drinking and acting normally I wouldn’t be too concerned. Also, make sure she is pooping daily and not becoming constipated. If she goes without pooping or her behavior changes, then I would have your vet take a look at her to make sure she isn’t constipated. I hope this helps!

I would make sure you are giving her plenty of leafy greens like dandelion greens and parsley. These are also high in vitamin c which they require since they don’t produce any on their own. Good news is that she is eating regularly and acting normal! If this continues I would have your vet take a look at her to make sure everything around her anus looks okay. Your vet will also be able to do a fecal to ensure there aren’t any parasites. I hope this helps!
