My dog has had contractions for 2 days. Is this normal or emergency?

My dog has been having contractions for 2 days now..no heavy panting...is this normal or do we need vet assistance ..she is acting like she normally does ..any suggestions to help her. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed | 8 lbs

Hello, sorry to hear about Maggie. 2 days of contractions is a lot and Maggie is likely to be very tired from this. Therefore, I would recommend having Maggie evaluated by her veterinarian rule out any primary causes for her abnormal delivery and contractions. Causes for this include a bridged puppy or a low calcium. Have Maggie evaluation by a veterinarian to rule out these potential causes, Hope this helps and best of luck.
