My dog is making a gurgling sound when breathing. Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 11 years and 5 months old | 16 lbs

my Chihuahua terrier mix is making a gurgling sound as she breathes. and I dont know why. please help

This can be serious if you are hearing a gurgling sounds as she breathes. This typically is a sign of pneumonia or it can be a really bad upper airway infection. She needs to see a vet right away for treatment, which hopefully will be a short course of antibiotics. Best case scenario is that she has an upper airway infection and it’s not lower down in her chest. I hope that your pet Roxy feels better soon. Take care.

    Gurgling sound in the lung is usually a sign of fluids in the lungs, it's not directly age related, it could be due to heart failure or some other heart/lung disease, you need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked.
