My 1-month-old female puppy won't drink milk replacer. Is she okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I got 5 one month old puppies. Four of them are male, one is female. The mother has stopped feeding her so we brought them puppy replacement milk. The male pups enjoy the milk but the female one does not show interest in the milk. What should we do? If we ignore it she will die soon according to a pharmacist, so we are really afraid. She wants only her mother's milk. She's also a little slow than her brothers. Is there any health issues with her?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If they are 4 weeks old now you can mix the milk replacer with canned puppy food and put it on a plate (not a bowl) for all of them to eat. Hopefully she will be interested in this food and can get her nutrients that way. Good luck and kisses to the pups!
