What can I give my senior dog for arthritis pain after exercise?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 7 years and 2 months old | 38 lbs

What can I give me dog for pain relief for artheritis? He had a big day running around with other dogs yesterday and is very sore in his back legs he’s had artheritis since being 2 and is now 8 years old

    Poor Snappy! You can give a 1/4 tablet of a baby aspirin if you feel like he absolutely needs it. I would only recommend it once a day and not for more than two days in a row. It is technically safe but it is risky as it can cause and upset stomach and even GI bleeds. It can also cause reaction with other pain meds that your vet may prescribe you of Snappy continues to be uncomfortable. Also, I would not give any other human pain relievers as others are actually toxic to dogs. The best thing for Snappy is to rest. This will help him feel better. Also, I would talk to your vet about maybe prescribing Snappy a safer anti-inflammatory for you to have on hand for days like this. I hope this helps and he starts to feel better soon!
