My chihuahua drank too much water, is bloated & breathing heavy. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 8 months old | 9 lbs

So my chihuahua has been drinking alot of water in the past 3 hours and is very bloated and breathing heavy. Is there something wrong?

He may have just over indulged himself. I would give him another 12 hrs of monitoring to see if his breathing and bloated appearance improves. Take away his water to stop his bad habit from continuing during this time frame. If he contineues to be bloated and his heavy breathing appears too labored where he isn't getting enough oxygen or if he is in severe distress, then its best to take him to your local vet or ER vet right away. He could have an underlying heart condition, lung condition or even a mass in his abdomen. Poor guy. I hope that everything works out ok for your pet Chica. Best wishes and take care.
