My ferret's wound keeps reopening and bleeding. What should I do?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Female | spayed | 2 years and 11 months old | 10 lbs

My ferret is almost 3 yr old ,shes had this wound for about 2 weeks now. When I had first notice it,it was small and a little red.Ive been checking up on it everyday sinve ive notice it. It looked as if it was gettung better ,just left with a scab.Today u checked her again and it was as if she cut it open and was leaking blood just a little bit.I took a rag and rested on her wound for a little bit. Now it lools like this dry. Im curious of what this is and what i can do to help her.

Hi there, It looks like Emily could either have an old injury that has become infected, or she may have an oil gland that has become infected. I would recommend having her checked by your vet, she may need a skin test and some antibiotics. In the meantime I'd recommend cleaning the area with a mild soap and rinsing it well to avoid leaving any residue, I hope that helps and thanks for using Pet Coach.
