Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 3 years old | 3.3 lbs

Hello Doc, Chiyo is taking prednisone (2.5 mg twice/day) & doxy(16.6 mg once/day) bcz of anemia followed by blood transfusion.. After starting those meds he had diarrhea with mucus& blood. So vet added maalox plus (2ml twice/day) & metrolag(1.5 ml twice/ day).. -Question 1: How much time should i wait after metrolag to give prednisone ? -Question 2: what is the right schedule to give all those meds together?

Hi there. You can give the Metrolag, Doxycycline and the Prednisone at the same time. There is no problem with that. The Maalox is the one to keep separate. I would give the Maalox one hour AFTER giving the other medications. If possible you should give Chiyo a probiotic as well. All those antibiotics are going to disrupt the normal population of bacteria in his intestines which may cause additional issues. I don't know what products are available in Lebanon so you may want to call your vet and ask about getting a probiotic. I would use Fortiflora if you can find it: https://www.entirelypets.com/fortifloradog.html Hope this helps. Best wishes!
