My dog has a raised red bump on her back. Is it serious or a tumor?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 60 lbs

My dog has a raised red bump on her back that kept growing but has stopped. It looks like little white bumps here and there. Looked like ringworm until it grew. Tried anti fungal cream, silver colloidal cream and garlic. Reading about Kerion. Can I buy antibiotics to try from pet supply store? What can it be?

This is not likely to be due to an infection, but more likely a tumor. Considering that it is ulcerated and irregularly shaped, I would be very concerned that this is a cancerous tumor and recommend taking Penut to the vet in the next day or two for an accurate diagnosis and likely removal. I hope that helps and Peanut gets better soon.
