Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 130 lbs

Hi my name is Christina. My dog is on the larger side and about 8 months ago she started developing asore that was dangling on her backside but more in between her legs. It has gotten huge and it keeps growing and sagging and is about the size of a orange now. It's also very red but has never bled or been an open sore it just keeps growing. She also has a knot on her inner leg right by it.I was wondering if you could possibly point me in the direction of what it might be so I can do my research.

Hello. This is a pendulous tumor that appears to originate from the vulva. In general, these are benign & not dangerous tumors in terms of spread & causing disease, but this is in great danger of getting snagged & causing tremendous bleeding. Surgical removal would most likely be curative. It is more difficult to predict the nature of the tumor on the inner leg. This may be a fatty, benign tumor called a lipoma, or a more insidious carcinoma. I hope as part of your research, you have a veterinarian thoroughly check things over, & give you an idea & estimate of taking care of these growths before they cause any problems for Dixie. Thank you.
