Adopted a male dog. What aftercare is needed after neutering?

adopted a 2yr poodle male. he will be neutered on Friday I pick him up on Saturday. Anything I should know about care for him? Rescue person said no bath or excersize for 2 weeks. Thanks in advance.

After a neuter it is wise to use an Elizabethan collar (e-collar) to prevent licking as this can lead to infection or opening of the incision. Aside from keeping him quiet, you should also monitor the incision for swelling, redness, bruising, or drainage. Make sure he continues to eat, drink, and go to the bathroom regularly.
