Why is my cat incontinent with a limp tail? Vet treatment failed.

Pet's info: Cat | American Curl | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 21 days old | 7 lbs

Hello, My cat can not stop urinating and pooping. She is potty trained and this has been going on for a couple of months. We went to a vet, and they said that she had a very bad infection, so they gave her medicine and a couple of shots but nothing worked. Also, her tail shoots down and she doesn't feel it at all. Please help me. I'm very worried about my cat. I do not have any pictures, but if you would like I could add some. Thank you

Hello, sorry to hear about Romana. It sounds like she may have a tail pull injury. This can happen if she caught her tail on something and she pulled it, injuring the nerves that provide control of her defecation, urination, and tail feeling/movement. I would have her evaluated by a neurologist or your veterinarian to rule out other causes for this. A bladder infection can indeed cause cats to urinate very frequently. Depending on what your veterinarian finds, they may recommend referral to a neurologist. Hope this helps and best of luck.
