Why is my 8-month-old boxer eating poop in his crate when alone?

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 40 lbs

My 8 month old boxer is eating his poop. My fiance and I put him in his cage when we leave for work. That is when he eats his poop. I dont know what I can do to break him of this. Its messing his bowels up.

They make a product called Forbid that you can add to his food that stops him from this behavior. Since he only does it in the kennel he might be bored. I would start by getting a smaller kennel or adding a partition. If he does not have enough room to poop and lay down out of it, they generally won’t go in the kennel. Make sure he has a new bone or toy to help give him something to do
