Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 4 days old | 5 lbs
Hello I just adopted a one-month old husky puppy last week. I was advised to keep him in the crate since he is new born and I had another adult husky in my home to minimise their interaction. However, once he woke up he keeps barking, crying loudly unless we free him out the crate. It was quite demanding because he would bark for at least half an hour and everyone couldn’t sleep well these days. He wakes up at 4am, 7am and 2am. What should I do to avoid him barking at midnight?

When puppies are as young as Q, it can be hard for them to be separated from the mom and the litter (in general, puppies should stay with their mom/litter until 8 weeks old). Q is still going to wake up a lot (think about human infants). Get a sound machine that has a heart beat track. Place a large stuffed animal in the crate and put the machine behind it. Make sure the puppy is not going to chew up anything or swallow anything. Make sure the area is warm. Think comfort! As Q gets older, the waking up at night will decrease. When Q wakes up, he will need to be taken out to potty. I hope this helps!
