Yes, it is possible that she is back in heat. Cats are induced ovulators and will often stay in heat until they are bred. I suggest you get her spayed as soon as possible. Is it true that multiple heat cycles indicate cystic ovaries? And can lead to infection? I’ve read that multiple heat cycles are ok for cats because of go into heat because they aren’t pregnant or spayed.

Unspayed cats over 6 months of age will generally have a heat cycle every 1-6 weeks (on average every 3 weeks). This does not indicate cystic ovaries and pyometra (an pus filled uterus) is generally more of a concern in unspayed dogs and not generally a concern in cats. Unwanted litters and overpopulation is often a concern however, so having Hermionine spayed is recommended if she is in contact with male cats that you do not want her to breed with. Good luck!

Hi and thanks for your post on Boop by Petco! Yes this can be normal. If she doesn't mate while in heat, then she may go out of heat for and come back into heat 1-2 weeks later. She may continue to come back into heat every couple of weeks during the breeding season (January-September) until she is bred. I hope this helps!

I have a cat and she ain't spaded. She is very friendly and laying on her back even around my dogs. She she will even get on my back and roll around. How long do they go into heat and how often? ? Seams like this is her 2nd time in about 35 days.

They usually go into heat every few weeks if they aren't mated so this is definitely possible. If you don't want her to have another heat cycle, you could talk to your vet about inducing ovulation to help her go out of heat but this isn't always recommend depending on the patient, or you could have her spayed if you don't plan to breed her. Cats are seasonally polyestrus which means that they continually go in and out of heat during breeding season. Normally breeding season starts in January, so Midnight is just a little ahead of the curve. When the days become shorter as you head into winter, cats may not go into heat as often. They tend to cycle more often during times when the days are longer, such as spring and summer. Cats are seasonal breeders, and this may be why she hasn't gone into heat again. Best of luck.
