Licking the lips and pawing at the mouths area can be a sign of nausea or a sign of a problem in the mouth cavity. if the issue does not resolve within 24 hours i would recommend taking her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated.

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Licking the mouth could indicate a number of things. It could be that Luna has a tooth infection or sore in her mouth that is causing pain and causing her to lick around her mouth. Licking is also a sign a nausea. My advice would be to take Luna in to see her veterinarian for an exam and oral exam to check for tooth issues or other problems with her mouth. Your vet may recommend blood work and anti-nausea medications if nausea is suspected. I hope this helps!
