I don't know if my newborn puppy is choking. He makes a weird noise and open his mouth every two seconds. We tried to press gentle under his ribs and tap on his back. What can we do? He is not as active as his brothers and doesn't eat as much since yesterday. We don't know what to do, we try to make him eat as much as he accepts, and keep him warm. Help please... they don'the have a mom so we are taking care of them.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Based on your description, I would recommend having the puppy examined by a veterinarian. He may have a respiratory infection that requires an oral antibiotic for treatment. The sooner you get him seen and treated the better so that the infection has less of a chance to spread through the rest of the litter. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help!
