My new kitten has coccidia. Started meds today. How to clean for this. He sleeps on my bed and can I hold him. Is it contagious to humans? I'm washing bedding?

Hello, coccidia is shed in the feces and rarely in vomit. Wash your hands after cleaning the litter box and clean any surface Oliver may have defecate on. The most common type of Coccidia that infects cats is species specific and it does not affect humans. Some more rare types of coccidia may infect humans such as cryptosporidium and toxoplasma, again also transmitted via a fecal to oral form or by eating raw meat. As long as you are washing your hands thoroughly and not handling fecal matter then you should be safe. Hope this helps and best of luck.
