Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 5 lbs
We just got a kitten about two months ago and he’s about five months old. We also have a female cat who is three years old and isn’t spayed at all. We plan on neutering the kitten before our female cat goes into heat but her heat came in early so we were wondering if he can get her pregnant at 5 months? Our vet won’t allow us to neuter him until he’s at least 6 months.

Every cat is different but yes there is a possibility he can at 5 months as that is the start of puberty for some. I would contact your vet to see if they can do it at 5 months given the circumstance as there is not little size difference in 1 month.
