My dog has a painless swelling near his anus. What could it be?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 1 month old | 78 lbs

Hello Sir/ Ma'am, My dog has a swelling on his anus, upper part on the right side. He doesn't seem to have a problem while passing feces and i haven't seen any blood in his stool. He doesnt seem to be in any pain or be bothered by it at all. But i noticed this about a week back and it still hasn't gone. Is there anything to be worried about? I have attached a photo with this post. Thanks in advance!

It may be a cyst or an adenoma that is testosterone dependent so it may get larger since he is not neutered. I would have your vet check it to see if surgery is needed and if neutering should be done at the same time to prevent others
