My guinea pigs were in a box 24 hrs without food/water. What to do?

I just found my daughter had failed to put her two guinea pigs back in their cage after changing their bedding, food and water yesterday morning. So that's 24 hours in a small box without food and water. I've now put them home and am monitoring them. What else should I do?

The main thing is to make sure they are eating and going to the bathroom. If you notice any distress or lethargy then I would get them checked by your vet. If they are acting normal and eating and going to the bathroom like normal, all you can do is monitor for the next day or 2 for any changes.
