You can offer Charlie some canned pumpkin and add plenty of water to his food to help with the constipation. There are no safe over the counter enemas for dogs so please have Charlie examined by your veterinarian if he doesn't have a bowel movement soon.

Poor Charlie. It is really common for dogs to act constipated after having an upset tummy. It may take a few days to build up another bowel movement. If you are truly concerned he is constipated, you can try feeding him 1/4 teaspoon on canned 100% puréed pumpkin. This has added fiber for him. Make sure he is drinking plenty of water. If he is still not having a bowel movement over the weekend then I would have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to determine whether he needs to be on a stool softener. I hope this helps!

I'm so sorry to hear that Angel has cancer. Pumpkin is a great idea because it is a good source of fiber, dogs usually love to eat it, and it is gentle on the system. If she is not drinking much water but will eat the pumpkin, you could try adding some water to the pumpkin so she will lap it up. You could also give her some plain boiled chicken breast and plain white rice with low-sodium chicken broth and pumpkin added to it. This should give her some water, fiber and calories and will hopefully get her bowels moving. If she doesn't go in the next day or so, I would recommend an exam by a veterinarian. We don't want her to get constipated and end up in a lot of pain and distress from that. I hope this helps.
