That is likely to be due to an infective pododermatitis that possibly could have an allergic base. It is basically a localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.

Poor Rage! I'm so sorry she is so painful! These areas could be interdigital cysts which often can be painful, oozing lesions between the toes. It could also be areas of infection or even tumor growth from your description. I recommend having Rage examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. She may need something like a diluted nolvasan solution to soak her feet, antibiotics to treat any infection present, and pain medication to help her get more comfortable, and possibly even corticosteroids to help reduce the inflammation. Please remember there are no safe over the counter pain medications for dogs so you will need to have these prescribed by a veterinarian. Until you can get to a veterinarian you should use an ecollar to prevent licking and use Epsom salt soaks to soak the feet. However, is encourage you to get to a vet as soon as possible as this condition is very painful and Rage will need other medications. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and I hope Rage is feeling better soon!
