Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9 months and 13 days old | 9.5 lbs
My cat has recently started biting my hand. I had broke her of the habit of “hunting” feet at night, but now she will rub against my hand like she wants to be pet and then start biting and clawing at it. She has done little nibbles before, but this is like when she fights with her sister kind of thing. How can I fix this behavior? She likes to cuddle up and has never shown this behavior before.

I'd recommend stopping any attention as soon as Lizzie starts to exhibit any biting or pre-biting behavior (like rubbing against your hand). Immediately stand up and walk away if any aggressive play or biting occurs. Withdrawal of social contact with be a powerful learning tool for Lizzie. Also get plenty of new toys and rotate their use so Lizzie has appropriate things to play with and does not get bored. A Feliway Diffuser may be used to help reduce biting behavior and anxiety for Lizzie. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and good luck!
