What dental products do vets recommend for my dog's oral health?

Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! Here is a list of the products I typically recommend: 1. CET oral rinse 2. CET enzymatic toothpaste 3. Oravet chews 4. Plaque off 5. CET chlorhexidine chews Not all of these will work but I have had some mixed success using all of these. My favorite is the Oravet chew as it employs an additive known as Delmopinol to prevent tartar formation. Oravet chews are only available in veterinary clinics so you may have a hard time finding this one online. All of the other products you can find online. I hope this helps!     Hello. That is a great question. People have different preferences but I personally recommend the poultry flavored toothpaste by CET. I like that it has enzymes in it so any contact with the tooth will start working on the tartar and bacteria. As far as mouthwash goes I like the one from OraVet that you can put into their drinking water to help flush their mouse as they drink.

I would recommend oral health products that are approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council. I have linked a list of approved products below. What is a good and safe product / brand for cleaning my dogs teeth?

Great question! I really like the CET brand of dental pet products. I would get Voodoo a pet toothbrush and toothpaste, and brush her teeth daily. You can also get her Dentasticks as a daily treat.

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would recommend using CET enzymatic toothpaste, which you can find online or at your local pet store. I would recommend buying a rubber bristled finger brush to apply the toothpaste to the teeth. You can also try Oravet chews, which contain Delmopinol, an ingredient used to slow or prevent the formation of plaque. Oravet is typically only available at the vet clinic so you would have to go to a clinic to buy these chews. I hope this helps! Do you have a recommended dental chew bite brand for dogs? For fresh breath
My own preference, and what I use for my dog, is C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews (by Virbac). These chews, in conjunction with daily brushing, keep his teeth clean and his breath fresh. Be sure that any chew or dental product you choose has the VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) Seal of Approval on the package.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! One of the best ways to maintain dental health is with regular teeth brushing, at least several times a week. Because Korbyn is fairly young, it will be possible to train him to accept having his teeth brushed by providing plenty of praise and treats during the process. Treats can also be given to supplement brushing, you should look for treats that have enzymatic properties as well as ones that take a while to chew, as this action strengthens the jaw and removes tartar. I also recommend keeping Korbyn on dry food to promote good dental condition. I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you may have!

What is the best product available to remove plaque from my dogs teeth?
Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! There are a wide variety of products out there that help decrease plaque on teeth to some degree. Some products are better than others. However, the best product out there is actually a toothbrush! Brushing your dog's teeth daily (or as frequently as you can) will help decrease plaque build up on the teeth and help prevent dental disease. Be sure to use a dog friendly toothpaste you can get from your local pet shop. I have linked one I recommend below. Sometimes, however, the plaque hardens and becomes calcified on the tooth. When this happens, it is very hard to get rid of with brushing or commercial products like dental sprays or water additives, etc. A dental scaling done by Hiccup's veterinarian is the only way to get the dental calculus off the tooth. The sprays and commercial products along with daily or frequent brushing will help substantially at reducing plaque build up in the future. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/p

Hello. Lily does need a good teeth cleaning, but I do not see anything alarming in her mouth. She may need a few teeth removed, but more likely a professional cleaning is all that is needed. I would go to this website as it lists all products recommended by veterinary oral care specialists.
