Hello, and congratulations on your new puppy! I am assuming you have started potty training Max to go outdoors, not indoors on a pee pad? A puppy at 4 months should be able to hold his bladder about 4-5 hours overnight. This means that if you want him to go potty at 7am, you'll need to take him out for a pee around 2-3am. The good news is that over the next few months as he grows older, Max should be able to hold his bladder longer and longer, until he will be able to hold it for at least 8 hours overnight. So the middle of the night wakings should only last for a few more weeks, hopefully! I hope this helps, and thank you for using Pet Coach!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If he is able to hold his urine that long that isn't an issue. If he whines in the night to be let out at that age I would encourage you to let him out, but if he is able to go that long without a problem I'd enjoy the sleep!
