My dog has pimples and black pores on her vulva. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 9 months and 27 days old | 51 lbs

My dog has what looks like pimples on her privates. Also the pores in the surrounding area are black. Its been like this for a few weeks and it doesn't seem to bother her too much but new "pimples" keep developing, what should I do?

It looks like Selene may have a skin infection. I would recommend bringing her to the veterinarian so they can dispense antibiotics to help it resolve. Due to the location of it, I would also recommend having them test her urine to make sure she does not have a urinary tract infection.     Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use chlorhexidine containing pads (such as the Douxo chlorhexidine 3% PS pads) to clean the are twice daily for 7 days. You may find these online or at your local pet store. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!

Hey! My puppy is 4 months old and there are tiny black dots around her vulva. I wiped them away some time ago but they are back. Is it just dirt or something else? Is it okay to wipe it away?
Hello. This is an accumulation of dirt & sebum, somewhat similar to blackheads on us. You can use a moist wipe to clean the area occasionally, but make sure you do not cause any irritation. If any redness develops, leave the area alone until you can see your veterinarian. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

6 year old unspayed female has black specks and bump on vagina, what could it be?
Those black specks are basically blackheads (comedones) and the bump is likely a follicular cyst. Nothing is too worriesome. I would use a Benzoyl Peroxide product like for acne. NOT hydrogen peroxide. I suggest this one. The ones you buy over the counter for humans are not the correct strength. This product is more concentrated. Girl beagle 2 years old. Unspayed Black dots on her vagina....?
It could be a bacterial infection or a yeast infection. Generally these occur just due to the nature of the skin in the area--the environment is dark in the skin folds, and there is some moisture from the skin and sometimes from urine as well. If it is not bothering her (she is definitely not licking at it, etc) it could also be just waxy secretions/plugged hair follicles, etc. You can try using just plain Witch Hazel (available at any pharmacy) on a cotton swab or pad once or twice a day for a few days to see if that helps; however if it does not help or if this seems to irritate her skin further or if she does not like it when you do this, DO NOT CONTINUE TO ATTEMPT THIS METHOD. Take her to the vet. And if you do try just cleaning it at home, take her in if you aren't seeing an improvement within 2-3 days. Thanks for asking Boop by Petco!

What does it mean or what is it if my dog has to small pimples on his penis?
This could be a bacterial skin infection. If any urine gets trapped on his fur or any moisture, this can predispose them to infection. I would recommend using a spray such as malacetic conditioning spray and apply to the area until resolved. If it does not resolve, I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at him so that the most appropriate treatment can be administered. I hope this helps! My 11 month old rescue puppy (Great Dane X Wolf Hound) has red spots and a couple of pus pimple-like spots around her vagina. Is there a natural treatment and what could the spots be?
From the pictures and your description it looks as though Poppy may have a skin infection. This can occur due to allergies as well as in areas where skin folds or normal anatomy allow dirt and moisture to become trapped such as around the vulva. For minor irritation, the area can be cleaned with a mild antiseptic or dog shampoo. If you are noticing these lesions elsewhere or if Poppy is licking or chewing at the area, she should be seen by your veterinarian.

I have a 5 week old puppy. We just moved to our new apartment several days ago and today i noticed these pimple like bumps around her genital area and stomach.one photo is taken on aug 10 from when she didnt have this. should I be concerned?
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Neela and for providing pictures, they are very helpful. It looks like she may have puppy pyoderma, which is a skin infection. The skin of the puppy is quite sensitive, and it can be common for them to get this skin infection around the genital area and stomach. This does need to be treated by a vet, she needs antibiotics, so I recommend you make an appointment for her to see her vet this week to get it treated. I hope this helps!
