My dog has these little lumps on her head. At first i thought they were ticks but i don't think that's what they are. Some of them are flaking. The lumps are black but flake off brown

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! These could benign or malignant growths. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!

That could be a histiocytoma which is a benign tumor that often will regress on it's own but it is difficult to be sure just by looking at some photos. Some other possibilities: an injury, an infection, a cyst, an autoimmune disorder. It is good you are taking her to the vet for an exam. They can tell you more after looking her over.
