Is it necessary to deworm cocktaiel ? what are symptoms or sign that shows cocktaiel affected with worm ? Does Deworming has any side effect? plz do not reply refer to ur vet. Pet's info: Exotic | Unknown - Exotic | Male

Cockatiels that are kept indoor as pet birds generally do not require routine deworming. Perhaps just once if they are bought from a questionable source. Birds kept in outdoor aviaries with access to the ground do require deworming. Signs include weight loss and loose stool. Since cockatiels onligh weigh 70-100gr trying to treat them with dog/cat products will result in a huge overdose that may be lethal!
