My 9 month old pit bull has went into heat for the first time. She was in the second phase of her heat, and latched onto my 1 year old pit bull puppy accidentally. They were only latched for 3 minutes before my girl puppy yanked off of him. I want to know if she is pregnant, and if so... will she be able to survive throughout her pregnancy and delivery? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 9 months old | 56 lbs

I cannot tell you if she is pregnant but after about 4 weeks you can have an ultrasound done by your vet in order to confirm or rule out pregnancy (this is the soonest a pregnancy can be detected in dogs). regarding surviving the pregnancy, i don't see why not, if she is healthy otherwise she should be absolutely fine.
