Dog ear infection: Can it cause balance issues & when will it improve?

Can a middle ear infection in a dog cause almost paralysis down one side? Also should we be seeing improvement after 5 weeks of antibiotics? Thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years and 9 months old | 25 lbs

No it should not cause paralysis but it can cause severe balance issues on one side, meaning she will always fall on this side, the limbs of the affected side will still be able to move though. after 5 weeks of antibiotics i would expect seeing a significant improvement assuming the correct antibiotic was chosen for the condition.
