My dog has kidney failure. Should he fast for kidney function tests?

Should a dog with kidney failure be fasting before blood tests to check the kidney functions?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If that is what was recommended by your veterinarian who knows Bailey well, then yes fasting Bailey before her blood tests should not be an issue. Fasting is not necessarily contraindicated in dogs in kidney failure. Good luck!
